Dressing with Dignity

But the fruit of the Spirit is, charity, joy, peace, patience, benignity, goodness, longanimity, Mildness, faith, modesty, continency, chastity.

-Galatians 5:22-23

“A dress cannot be called decent which is cut deeper than two fingers breadth under the pit of the throat; which does not cover the arms at least to the elbows; and scarcely reaches a bit beyond the knees. Furthermore, dresses of transparent materials are improper.”

-(The Cardinal Vicar of Pope Pius XI).

The way in which we dress reflects how we present ourselves. At all times, but most especially when we place ourselves before the Lord at the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, we should be dressing in a way which glorifies and honours the Lord. This means dressing in a modest, beautiful way, and making sure our clothes are neat and tidy. We should avoid casual clothes such as jeans and jerseys, and we should be dressing up for the Lord, wearing our “Sunday Best”. This isn't a time to draw attention Video below: to ourselves, rather we want to focus on Christ Put on your Sunday Best and and dress in a dignified way for Our Lord. Be At Your Sunday Best
