Receiving Holy Communion

In the Extraordinary Form of the Mass (TLM), Holy Communion is received kneeling and on the tongue. At the time of Holy Communion, those who are to receive line up at the Communion Rail.

Before administering Holy Communion the priest says, “Corpus Domini Nostri Iesu Christi custodiat animam tuam in vitam aeternam, Amen” (“May the body of our Lord Jesus Christ keep your soul to life everlasting. Amen”). Note that the priest says “Amen” for the people.
